CHAPTER TEN
Morgan spent his first day off shopping for clothes to fill in for the clothes which had gone missing at the unknown cleaners. He picked out a new suit for Bodhi at a price point his great love would choke on. A couple of fresh, white shirts also went into the bag, along with a blue geometric and a deep green swirl tie. Morgan's favorite item was a forest green, cashmere sweater which was going to be oh so soft to hug and rub up against.
He bought himself a cashmere sweater, too in blue with flecks of silver. Topman skinny jeans in blue went with the watercolor floral button shirt and taupe color block turtleneck. Morgan didn't need new shoes, but he couldn't resist the Louboutin Greggo Cap Toe Oxfords. $850 bucks but good shoes lasted forever.
To balance out the high-end clothing, Morgan also picked out a few basic items from Nike athletic to add to Bodhi's casual, around the house, clothing. Maybe then he wouldn't be so weird about excepting all the gifts.
The next few days were spent fulfilling requests for autographs and video greetings that had been sold for charity, trying out new recipes (including one for beef stew) and surfing the internet. With the battery dying on his iPad, he went to the hall to dig a charger out of his backpack. Instead, his eyes fell on River's backpack which he had rescued from the trailer.
He opened it and took out her slim laptop. The keys to his life were probably in that computer. The address of the cleaners, the contact info for the charity liaison, the travel arrangements for the upcoming convention.
His information, but her computer. Probably locked with a passcode anyway. He powered it up just to see and was greeted with a screen asking for a four-digit code.
Yep, impenetrable.
Or not.
He had a vague recollection of her telling him she made the code his birth date, just in case he ever needed to access her computer. He typed out the four digits and he was in.
Just a quick look for the information he needed. Some of which would be in her email. He powered that up, too. With every step he felt more like a thief and yet more intrigued by the life of the young woman he thought he knew.
She had a subscription to a monthly box for fans of fantasy novels. She had an account on Netflix, and she followed a productivity blogger who sent out weekly organizational tips. Spotify suggested she listen to The Weekend, David Bowie, and Brian Eno.
He did find the email thread with all the information he needed for the upcoming convention, which he forwarded to his own phone. He also found Facebook notifications for a group dedicated to celebrity assistants. Oh, to be a fly on that virtual wall.
The one conversation which surprised him the most was a small group discussion about screenwriting. The most recent email was from 'scifiordie,' and he or she had left a detailed critique of River's script.
